PhD in Art History and lecturer at the University of Seville (School of Architecture). My work unfolds in the field of the history of industrial architecture. I soon discovered that the value of technical and scientific culture helps to complete the historical contexts of architecture as a space of social production and economic reproducibility in which the order and chaos of our contemporary world finds some of its explanations. Industrial heritage allowed me to reconcile theory with practice, the discipline of an art historian with the necessary help from other fields of knowledge such as economic history, geography, anthropology or sociology. So, gradually, I came to an interdisciplinary analysis, in which the landscapes of production take on full meaning as a territorial expression of the relations of production, social relations and spatial relations. |
